How time flies!

Here we are in February and it feels like we just finished with Christmas.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is doing your best to stay warm.  Those of you in the south have had a beautiful winter so far and our winter up north has not been to bad either.  I hope you all are looking forward to a great summer with lots of fun.

Before I go to far I want to thank our three web masters, Phil Skalak who brought us into  “the web era.” Chuck Howard who taught himself how to do web pages and did a great job keeping us up to date. Ed Gawronski has taken over and is adding his talents to our organization. Thanks Guys!!!

As you may or may not know, Good Sam has worked out a new program with Flying J / Pilot travel centers.  They are offering Good Sam members a discount on the purchase of gas, diesel, propane and dump station service.  This is done through a Pilot /Flying J charge card.  This is a charge card, not a credit card. You must pay the entire amount each month but, I think you will find the savings  worth it.  I suggest you apply now as they are swamped with applications and it may take a while to get your card.  I’m sure everyone would like to save on fuel this summer.  Go to GoodSamClub.com/pfj to learn more and register.

Another new item from Good Sam is the “HI-Way Herald.” This is available on line only, so crank up the computer and see what’s new at Goodsamclub.com. 

Motor Home and Trailer Life magazine will be featuring a full page ad for readers to get out and find a chapter.  It is in all of our interest to show these interested people our Good Sam spirit.  You may also want to ask around your church or civic group to see if there are any campers.  A church group is a great opportunity to start a new chapter.  Please remember, you can be a member of more than one chapter at a time.  (Must be a member of Illinois Good Sam)

Rally’s, Rally’s, Rally’s, all over the place.  For those of you out west for the winter (it’s been rough this year) you have a Rally in Phoenix, Az. March 22nd through the 25th (our mobile abode will be in the RV hospital getting a new generator).  Then we hope to see a bunch of you in Louisville (Lou-a-vul) in June.  For those of you heading to Florida next winter, think about Daytona in November.
